Marina and Nicholas’ Andaz wedding was one to remember! The two had been engaged for two and half years due to the pandemic pushing and rescheduling their wedding three times. They were originally going to be married in New England, where they are from, but switched plans and decided to have a destination wedding in beautiful Scottsdale, Arizona. Their wedding was scaled back from over 200 guests, to around 80. They wanted the wedding to be full of love for them, their friends, and their family. We think they absolutely nailed that! With Laki Events as their lead designer and florist, their wedding design was a dream. We loved working alongside Mary Claire as she captured their wedding day with us.
How They Met:
For Marina and Nick it all started in a little old apartment building in the North End of Boston. Marina moved in November and one month later Nick and his brothers were swinging Nick’s box spring up the spiral staircase when they realized they needed some more room to make the turn and knocked on 2F’s door. Guess who opened? Yep, Marina! In their first meeting, Marina and Nick spoke for all of 10 seconds and they didn’t see one another again until they crossed paths again 6 months later in the same stairway.
The night they officially met was shared over bagel bites and great conversation sparking a summer fling that over plenty of North End pasta and wine, grew into a relationship that would travel from Boston to San Diego and then again to Los Angeles. A relationship that grew into a life long friendship and culminated when over five years later Nick finally did something he should have done years before and asked Marina to marry him during a beautiful California sunset just south of their Hermosa apartment.
Nick took Marina out for drinks at Terrenea, which is a resort in Palos Verdes, California. The sun was setting, we were on the cliffs over looking the gorgeous ocean and he popped the question! Marina was very surprised!
Marina and Nick’s Andaz wedding was a classic and elegant affair. White florals and greenery adorned the ceremony arch while pops of blush florals and neutrals dressed the reception space. The love you felt throughout their day between the two of them was something undeniable. You can feel it through their film. The love that surrounded them by their closest friends and family was also something hard to describe. We feel so lucky to have been a part of their special day!
