We LOVE sisters!! Catherine and her sister both had their weddings filmed by Serendipity. It is always such an honor to document the love of a couple and then be invited back into their family to document another once in a lifetime event.

How They Met:

Catherine and Ian met in Scottsdale. When Catherine first laid eyes on Ian she instantly knew he was going to be someone special in her life. Ian was at a salon that Catherine was then working at, getting his hair cut by a mutual friend of theirs. As soon as Ian left the salon, Catherine immediately went up to his stylist and told her that she had to be in working the next time Ian came in because she wanted to see him again.
What Catherine didn’t know was that the feeling was mutual. Ian text Catherine two days later after getting her number from his stylist, and they immediately hit it off. They met at a restaurant and talked forHOURS until the restaurant closed. What seemed like a couple minutes instantly turned into hours of conversation that just flew by. From that day on, they have been inseparable and became a perfect match.

The Proposal

Ian and Catherine were in Disney World with Ian’s immediate family to celebrate his parents anniversary. One of the evenings, they had planned a surprise anniversary party for his parents, just as a thank you for the trip and to say happy anniversary, or at least that is what it was supposed to be!

Catherine and Ian went to dinner that night in Epcot at an Irish Pub. As the meal was over, Ian turned to Catherine and said: “let’s head over to the reserved room to make sure it is all set up for my parents”. Catherine obviously had no idea what was really about to happen!

Ian and Catherine were walking through Epcot when they finally got to the building and where a Disney employee was waiting outside for them. He came up to them and he swiftly took them to a private elevator that brought them up to what was supposed to be the private suite for the anniversary party.

As soon as the Disney employee opened the doors to the suite, Catherine saw Paul (Ian’s father) standing in front of them holding a camera. Her first thoughts were “oh no! We took too long and missed the surprise”. Catherine scanned the room and noticed that, not only was Ian’s whole family there but that Ian had invited Catherine’s whole family to join as well. She then turned and saw Ian down on one knee asking her to be his wife.

Needless to say, Disney World officially made their dreams come true and gave them the perfect start to their happily ever after.

The Wedding

Catherine and Ian’s day was nothing short of romantic and whimsical. It was very personalized and intimate. They even had the pleasure of having Catherine’s Uncle marry them. Since they were engaged in Disney World, we love how they incorporated hints of Disney in a very tasteful way. One tier of the cake had little Mickey heads on it, the flower girl walked down with a Mickey shaped bouquet and there were love quotes from different Disney movies on each of the tables.

Catherine’s dress was gorgeous and so flattering. We are in love with the high neck and illusion back. We also love how the bridesmaids dress matched in the fact that they too had high necks. The floral was perfect in the way that it looked like you walked through a garden and grabbed a handful of flowers, perfectly. This bride paired eggplant and rose gold accents throughout the wedding perfectly.

It was a romantic but fun wedding. The bridal party entered the dance floor with glow sticks and got the party started, and the father-daughter dance was an amazing routine that had the whole crowd loved it.
