How they Met:
It was freshman year of college, 2004 when Chris and Nicole first met. A mutual friend introduced them and Chris would never forget Nicole’s very unique way of holding a pen to write. From that moment on Chris and Nicole became great friends, and along with Nicole came six plus other girlfriends. Let’s just say Chris instantly became a ladies man.
Through the next 16 months, their friendship continued to grow stronger. Sophomore year of college, Chris, Nicole and a couple friends headed up to Santa Barbara to celebrate Halloween. With nowhere to sleep, and temperatures dropping Chris and Nicole opted for the floor of a college house where they snuggled throughout the night for warmth. It was that next morning, on their drive back to LA when Nicole and Chris locked eyes in the rearview mirror and instantly knew this was more than a friendship. Chris sealed the deal the next day, October 31st, 2005 at a club in Hollywood, with a big kiss.
11 years later, on January 16th, 2016, Chris decided to make things official and ask Nicole to marry him. Off course she said yes and here we are today.
The Proposal:
The proposal was a complete surprise. Nicole had no idea it was going to happen since the couple had just been in Arizona with Nicole’s family for the holidays and had always stated she wanted her family by her side in celebration of this special day.
On 1/16, Nicole was surprised when Chris asked if she wanted to go hiking. Nicole jumped at the chance since this is not one of Chris’ favorite activities. They quickly got dressed and headed to Runyon Canyon in Los Angeles. Nicole took Chris on a trail that is a little more intimidating and only a few people hiking, vs hundreds. It was much more of an intimate hike, to say the least, only running into two other hikers.
Nicole led the charge and Chris would constantly say babe stop, let’s take a picture, however, Nicole just wanted to get to the top of the hill, so kept going. Chris asked again and Nicole got a little suspicious since she is usually the one asking to take pictures not him. She looked down at him a few yards below him on the trail and didn’t see a ring box in his pocket, and kept going. Then on the third request, she finally stopped, to take the picture, and that is when Chris got down on one knee and proposed. Nicole and Chris both called their families but no one answered their calls. They completed their hike and Chris told Nicole they were headed to the Marina for a little getaway.
They then headed to the Ritz Carlton in Marina Del Rey where she was overwhelming surprised with both of their families.
