How They Met:

Lauren loves to tell the story, so we will share her version:
I (Lauren) think it’s funny because God had to try multiple times for us to get together before it stuck.

1) We “first met” at a mutual friend’s house after an ASU Football game. Brandon came over to see his old friend while he was on a trip for work. At this time, I didn’t know Brandon was a working professional, so I found it very odd some guy would show up to this in a nice suit. (everyone else was in T-shirts). I also found him to be aloof, answering in one-word answers and thought he was a huge jerk.

Later, we re-connected on Facebook after we had so many mutual friends in common. He was in town again for work and took me out to a dinner and movie. The rest is history!

2) BUT a year before that, we were both at a political conference in DC. I have several pictures that I took with my friends, and Brandon is in the background of A LOT of them. I also talked with about 5 of his co-workers, one of which even made a comment about Brandon and how he was from Arizona.

3) BUT TWO YEARS before that, we were both at the same political conference. Brandon somehow got roped into dressing up as Ben Franklin for his work to take pictures with people. One of those people included me–smiling next to Brandon/Ben Franklin, having no idea I was standing next to my future husband.

The Proposal:

Throughout college, Lauren did some modeling for extra cash. Brandon called her agent ahead of time and scheduled a “gig” for her.

She was all dressed up with my makeup and hair done. The first part seemed like a legitimate job. Then they headed over to Old Main, where she was told we would be spending a lot of extra time.

As they were snapping photos, Brandon comes up behind her! Then he got on one knee and pulled out a beautiful ring! Lauren was so excited!! Her entire immediate family then came running down to say congrats.
