Zane + Rosanna

How They Met

Their friends knew they would be a perfect match, but it took quite a bit of convincing, and maybe a little fate.  Rosanna’s good friends knew that Zane was an awesome guy and would be a great fit for Rosanna, however she wasn’t quite sure yet. They finally met at a mutual friend’s wedding. Rosanna was a bridesmaid and Zane was one of the musicians playing for the ceremony. While at the wedding, their friends tried to introduce them to one another, but instead of cordial exchanges of pleasantries, it was a rather awkward experience where they both walked away uninterested.

Three months passed and they met again at another mutual friend’s wedding. This time they were both guests and the bride and groom strategically placed us at the same table. Zane had been more prepared to talk to Rosanna while Rosanna had no expectations to talk to him. They soon found themselves in good conversation and in constant interaction throughout the evening.

The next day, Zane found Rosanna on Facebook and thankfully Rosanna accepted the request. Zane initiated a Facebook message conversation and that’s how their story began!

The Proposal

These two had been dating long distance for exactly a year. Zane planned to come to San Francisco the weekend of their one year anniversary (from our first date) and they decided to re-live that first date. They started the day early getting breakfast and then headed over to Golden Gate Park. As they were walking around, Zane was recording the day with his GoPro. Rosanna was not suspect because Zane had been using his GoPro on prior dates so it didn’t seem out of the ordinary.

As they were walking through the park, they were reflecting over the past year as a couple and what to look forward to. And by the end of it, Zane wanted to find a spot to pray over our next year. Zane and Rosanna finally found a place by a lake, and as they were sitting down, Zane set up his GoPro to take a picture of the two of them. Again, not suspect. Then immediately, Zane hands me Rosanna his phone and tells me her that he has made a video she needs to watch.

The video is about him telling her why he loves her and then the next clips are his family welcoming Rosanna into their family and clips of her family giving their blessing to Zane. As soon as the video ended, Zane had Rosanna stand up and he got down on one knee and proposed! She said yes!

Then he surprised her with brunch where her family had flown in. And then he ended the night with a surprise engagement party where their closest friends from Texas/Arizona flew in to celebrate. It was a full day, but it was one of the most thoughtful and well planned days they have ever experienced.
